Keegan Brown

15-years-old, already breaking darting records and determined to live the dream of becoming a top darts professional... that's young Keegan Brown.

Team Unicorn is building a reputation for spotting young darting talent and Brown is aiming to graduate through the ranks at Unicorn, as he takes his place in the Generation 180 category.

He is the youngest ever English player to turn out for his County, when he represented the Isle of Wight against Shropshire and he had to get special dispensation to play from the BDO!

Keegan is also the youngest player on the Isle of Wight to win an adult Super League game and he is making great waves on the South coast, as his darting education continues.

"I was bitten by the darts bug a few years ago and I know every game I play is part of the learning curve but ultimately, I would love to make a living out of the sport."

Keegan is currently juggling the darts with studying, as he prepares to take 11 GCSE examinations. He gets all the support and encouragement he needs from mum and dad - Paula and Alan - but they make sure the homework and study comes first!

He uses 22gm Unicorn darts and is sports mad - playing rugby and cricket for his school. Keegan is also becoming a minor celebrity at home in Newport on the Isle of Wight. He has appeared in several TV programmes talking about, playing and promoting darts, including Exchange and SportsRound on the BBC and his local station Meridian.

The sport of darts is sure to become a major part of Keegan's life. He already plays three or four times a week, has won several junior tournaments and beats adult players on a regular basis. He has also come agonisingly close to his first 9-darter! After seven perfect darts, Keegan just clipped the wire of treble 15 with his eighth dart.

He reached the final of the Isle of Wight Open, narrowly losing to Colin Monk's son Aaron and among his scalps is the name of fellow Team Unicorn new boy Ricki Williams in the Hampshire Open.

Only time will tell whether Keegan Brown is a darts star in the making but the youngster certainly has the drive, belief and ambition to make it in the big time in the years to come, with the backing and support of Team Unicorn.
