I am truly saddened to hear of Barry's passing. Truly an ambassador for our sport and a class act.

Glenn Remick, President, ADA

Very sad to hear about Barry Twomlow. He was a very special person and good
friend.

Jay Tomlinson

My wife and I knew Barry right back to the time he became involved with Unicorn Darts. We were licensees at the Greyhound at Danesmoor Clay Cross near Chesterfield. We were lucky enough to be invited to the first ever Unicorn Darts Pairs Competition in 1978 at London. Barry became a good friend and was always happy, helpful, jovial and friendly. I am sure he will be sadly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Ez and June Barnes, Clay Cross, Derbyshire

In times where titles are important, World Champion, UK Champion, you had the greatest: "The man who taught the world to play darts". I never had the opportunity to meet you but my love of darts was passed on to me by someone who had.

My thoughts are with your family and friends, God bless you Barry.

Chris Ward

A great player and a great man, with wonderful humility. I met him in Tulsa in 1986. He was watching our league match and was interested when I took out 125 with the first dart at the bull. He said he'd never thought of doing it that way but that it made sense. I was truly impressed that a player of his stature and vast experience could interact so naturally with players of all levels; when you met him you felt as if you had always been friends. He represented the highest ideals of our sport, and will be very truly missed.

John Bishop

Hearing the news of Barry's passing was a great shock to me. I always envisioned Barry as a larger than life personality - an extremely likeable individual who took life as something to enjoy fully but still possessed the steel will of a champion. A rare combination. The world is a lesser place without him.

Ben Mawhinney, Sportcraft, USA

It is sad to note that we have lost good friend Mr Barry Twomlow. We hope you convey our condolences to his family from the Hong Kong Darts Association and his friends from Hong Kong SAR, China.

Andy Cheng, Hong Kong Darts Association
Well, when I first met Barry I was in short trousers and he was definitely Mr Twomlow. A giant of a man in every sense that's when I started looking up to him, and I never stopped looking up. I watched him so many times at trade shows and exhibitions winning people over effortlessly, entertaining them, educating them. Exuding charm, humour and of course great skill on the oche, you just couldn't say "No!" to Barry. If making friends was a sport, Barry was an Olympian.

He is sorely missed, how fortunate we are to have known him. Our thoughts are with Margaret and the family.
